Until recently all our websites were hosted on a server that was based in Dallas, Texas. This helped keep costs down for us all, and while still getting a reliable service. The downside is that when someone in New Zealand visits one of the websites, the data has to travel quite literally half way around the world. This is like driving across the city to pick up a newspaper.
But… we've just moved all the websites to a brand new server based right here in New Zealand. More importantly though, is how it benefits you. The new server is obviously closer, which means it responds 4-5 times faster than the old one as well as knowing that we're supporting a New Zealand company while still getting a reliable service. Now it's like walking to the news stand next door… no long drive, no traffic jams, no fighting for a parking space.
Faster websites while supporting Kiwis… What more could we want?
