Southern Pride Invercargill New Century Lions Club. A big name for a group with big hearts, these folks are great. The club helps their local community with lots volunteering and fundraising events around Invercargill, and right now they're auctioning a children's quad bike (kindly donated by PowerNet Services Ltd) with all the money going to the Children's Ward of Southland Hospital.
You can bid on the auction here. Go on and place a bid, not only will you help the children at Southland Hospital as well as whoever you'd give the bike to, but you'll get a big dose of the warm-fuzzies too.
The Southern Pride Invercargill New Century Lions Club is one of numerous volunteer organisations out there that pick up the slack where the government simply fails to help. Just look at most public children's playgounds, the majority of the country's ambulances, or any number of other things that have been funded or built by volunteers such as Lions clubs, St Johns, or Rotary.
